iRest Yoga Nidra is a mindfulness-based, research-backed approach to the ancient practice of yoga nidra. Nidra refers to that liminal state between wakefulness and sleep where the body is totally relaxed but, the mind remains aware and focused.
It’s designed to help individuals let go of the busyness of their minds and deeply relax, get to know themselves better, reduce stress and anxiety, reduce depression, relieve PTSD, insomnia, and promote overall well-being and greater resilience.
In this profound, yet simple practice of self inquiry, we greet whatever is here as a “messenger” with vital information for us, information that opens us up to authentic responses to life’s challenges. Through this process of welcoming, we get to know and can disidentifiy from the conditioning that makes us feel incomplete, inadequate or flawed. We discover our wholeness that is always present.
We move through the different layers or “sheaths” of physical, emotional and spiritual consciousness. Different from cognitive therapies, we sense our way , priming the body to do what it knows how to do- to rest and free itself for healing.
